I bet this really adds to the character of your house. It is a great fit with the brick facade of the house. I’m not sure what I’d classify your house style as? Colonial/American Tudor/etc.?
We currently have no shutters on our house, which I would classify as an American Tudor (mostly brick, with a bit of stucco and timber on the top half). However, this is something on my “To-Do List”.
As is the case with your pictures, this is a detail that really adds something to the house, taking it up a notch.

They came out looking real good. The black was the perfect color for them.

Nice! Sets off the house real well. I have seen a couple of houses that lack shutters and they look rather plain.
