Notice the intricate leaf clusters surrounding the detailed petals of the unfolding rose on this box. Each object is masterfully true to the detail of the original plant.
Nairi Safaryan has a sense of humor in his carving. In this piece the lid is supported by an inchworm with tiny carved feet.
The piece is crafted from one piece of box wood. The piece is not stained and there is no finish on it. The piece measures 8 ¾” x 3 ½” x 3 ¾”.

Ouch, my jaw just hit the floor. So delicate, I’d be afraid to touch it, let alone try to carve it.Very nice.

Nairi Safaryan has a sense of humor in his posting, too. It is very artisticallyl done, but could you tell us a little more? Show us a little more? What kind of wood?... Hand or power carving?... hinged lid? How will you finish it?
Thanks for showing it… it is impressive.

Truly exquisite!! I can’t imaging the hours not to mention talent that it takes to accomplish such a piece.

Thank you ALL for the kind comments.
I have downloaded a picture with the lid open.
First I used power tools but the most of the work is done by hand tools. The carving is made of one piece of box wood and there is no finish on it.
