Here’s the latest box, freshly finished and ready for…???
I’ve kept it under my hat, but I made this box for a specific purpose and person. I really appreciated the kindness that Ellen35 showed, coming so far out of her way to give me a lift to the Lumberjock’s Get-together, at the North Bennett Street School in early May…
Ellen would not hear of money for Gasoline or Parking, and said that it was not a subject for discussion… Not being one to argue, I silently vowed that when I got a chance, I would make her a little something, as a token of my appreciation… This is it…
Let me know, Ellen, where you want it sent, and I’ll send it out this week. Thank You once again, and I hope you like it… :)

Thanks David and Lisa!!
Lisa, the sides are Cherry, the top panel is Imbuia, which was a gift from Brother Patron… :)
On the trays, I reversed them…
Thank You too, Paul!!

I am humbled…
Mike,
It was my pleasure to pick you up, meet you and spend time with you…
I am a believer that one good deed can start an avalanche of good deeds… I hope that is the case with this.
They say no good deed goes unpunished… but this is spectacular! As I watched this box being made, I thought this was your best yet! The hinges and the inserts are just the best! I am so excited!
So… where can I drive you next!!!! ;-))
I accept, Mike, I accept… with gratitude. I will look forward to receiving it.
I’ll PM my address.

Fine job and great gesture! I was going to suggest that you tell Ellen that this was not a subject for discussion either, but I see she has already graciously and enthusiastically accepted! Bravo for your thoughtfulness.

Beautiful box and all I have to say is: “THIS is what LJ’s is all about !” Another fine example of 2 wonderful people, exchanging fantastic “kind” gestures…...
Mike, I am sure you really enjoyed making this box and I can see that you put your heart into it. Ellen, I imagine that you will enjoy this fine box for many years, but also will remember the fine person that gave it to you and all because of an “act of goodness” !
This is fantastic !

That’s a beautiful gift, Mike. I’m sure it will mean much more than gas money.
