Both made of Curly Bee Tree Camphor (there was a beehive either in it or on it), and all three “encased in Acrylic”. (Super Glue)
The parts for the pepper mill were attained from an old beat up one from goodwill :)
The camphor pen was turned way too big… but it still turned out nicely :)
And the last pic is of a rosewood pen i made for a good friend of mine, he’s been milling camphor, rosewood, hickory, a couple different pines, monkey pod, live oak, and flamewood. Hes been giving me a bunch of big pieces which ill show off a bit in another post.

That wood is spectacular. I have never worked Camphor, but have heard and read that is has a very strong odor. I would be concerned about the odor affecting the flavor of food items. Did you do anything to prevent this from happening on the Pepper Mill.

Thanks :) camphor is definitely my favorite wood to turn, easy to turn, easy to sand, and it’s beautiful :) Yes, the odor is extremely strong, and to prevent it from affecting the taste of the peppers i sealed the inside with shellac.
