I decided to carve each segment on this one to give a 3 dimension feel. I realized, too late, that my short attention span worked against me, as I found that I worked 1 or 2 segments at a time and then had to move on to something else for a while… Took a lot of refining and I finished most of my other stars in between, but I like the way it turned out!

I used re-purposed teak, birch, Indian rosewood, ash, pear, oak, pistachio and cherry. The star measures about 11” across. Apparently, in my workshop, no scrap goes to waste!

that is gorgeous! Just Wow! I love seeing it from the perspective to see the 3d details. Thanks for sharing.

Wow!! That’s beautiful and you didn’t even use one Kreg screw! Sorry, but Scott Phillips won’t be featuring this project on his show. ;^)
