Hey Alex that’s not a bad effort on the pen, looks like you have inherited some very good skills, as for making pens I would be lucky to be able to see all the raw materials let alone make a beauty like that.

Now some more mentoring in other aspects of LJs
1 You need to do some work on your home page as it has no location, the reason I say this is that some LJs (like Myself) will check out your credentials before posting any replies.
So how this works for me is

Are you a Gypsy
Here is my assessment:

No home: fail
No introduction almost a fail saved by your dad
No photo just the default LJ image Thats a pass
No Projects Thats a pass
No Constructive Blogs well I guess thats a default pass
No Buddies As above
No photo supporting the question you ask N/A
You look very much like just another one of the hundreds of “members” on this site that has no name or home hasn’t had the courtesy to introduce themselves, never made anything never contributed anything, never socialises, just a wandering gypsy preying on the Woodworking goodwill of others.

A person who fails to meet the above criteria resembles the stereotype of a Gypsy, as in appearance or itinerant way of life.

So there is my welcome to LJs by way of a friendly headbutt!

Now lets look at projects, All projects have supporting story requirement and six front page images or pictures.
A story is not a one liner BTW

This now begs the question So did you really make the pen or just assemble the parts you nicked from you Dads in progress Project of stuff!

Project stories usually involve construction details timber used, (tick) and all that interesting sort of stuff
Finishing details and unusual situations that may have occured when building away.

There are a few LJs that will disagree with my opinions (which incidently are only opinions) you can post anything you like really say nothing post pictures sideways and the usual tacky effort some people adopt when using a web to “promote” their skills (it actually works in reverse) take a look at this excellent project spoiled bu sideways pictures.

Thats enough of a rant to stimulate the grey matter

Welcome to LJs !!

-- Regards Robert

Fit & finish looks good! is that a Majestic Squire kit? love those. Nothing like making a pen for a quick win in the shop.

Welcome to lumberjocks!

Thanks for the heads up Robert! When I get a chance I’ll put some more work into it. As far as the project goes. I actually have 5 time lapse videos of me making this pen. They are uploaded on my Instagram alexpottratz (Lumber jocks didn’t allow the videos to be posted)

Lalen I don’t remember off the top of my head what the name, but it is definitely one of my favorites!
