This is a ring I made a few years ago for my wife. The ring is made out of cocobolo and is set with a princess cut citrine. It is a few years old, and even though she has worn it infrequently, the finish is getting scratched up.
I started by cutting the cocobolo down to a reasonable width. After that I drilled the hole with a forstner bit and sanded the inside to size. Next I cut the ring to shape with a coping saw. I cut off the two shoulders, made slight indents to hold the stone, and glued it all together. Finally I put on many coats of lacquer and rubbed it out.

Nice ring. I like the use of the stone. Most on here are only wood.
Keep it up.

Wow! I’ve seen wooden rings with ground stone’s but I’ve never seen a wooden ring with a large stone in it. Very nice!
