I show some of the steps I go through. From taking a picture and enlarging it in the second picture which came out being 4 pieces of paper. Then after gluing the pattern together I then start the process of getting up the ruff lumber, this time being maple I run the wood through the planer then cut the gruves for the biscuits. I used 18 biscuits for the glue up. Pattern turns in to one piece then start the process of preparing the wood. Fifth picture is after I cut out the pieces and then removed the pattern. I always put clear packing tape on the wood and spray stickum on to the tape then place the pattern on to the stickup.. The clear tape makes it easier to remove the pattern after the scroll saw has cut out the outside and all the pieces. I do it this way because cutting the pieces to be caved into small pieces is easier to hold while I do the carving . I installed a clock movement that has a pendulum and it also plays a tune on the hour and part of that tune each 15 minutes so I had to build a box to house the speaker and the pendulum and movement. What I ended up with was not exactly the clock in the pattern. I always like to change things to suit myself… in this instance I am the one who I am trying to make happy. I printed a dial off the internet then put it in Rapid Resizer for the size that fit the space after I also made it an oval to fit the space ever better then cut the numbers out with the scroll saw. After the colors went on I covered it with spray lacquer.

Questions, let me know.

Very pretty.

Patterns are merely a starting point ANYWAY! Please the person in the mirror FIRST!
