Here’s a small gift box with a sliding lid. I trimmed the top with walnut along with the splines. Keeping the grain pattern continuous makes these kind of projects interesting and they’re easy to make.

Love the contrasts in the wood and walnut. Is that ambrosia maple. I’ve only seen it a couple of times at Woodcraft in Boise. Nothing like that grows out here and it’s way out of my price line.

I really like the corners on this box the continuous grain and the splines look great. Nice work.
