Wedding present for my niece

My brother’s little girl grew up, met a boy, and fell in love. I got the invitation, but could not attend the wedding, so instead, I decided to build something. I put her in touch with LumberJocks and told her to look around. She and her fiancee looked and were impressed with Tim Marko’s wine steward.

It was a fun project that built my skills and let me get to know some new tools I hadn’t used before. It is made of hard maple and african mahogony. I hope she enjoys it for many years (at least until the kids come along).

On a side note, with the amount for packing and shipping, I’m really glad she didn’t pick a blanket chest or something similar!

Jim, were you looking over my shoulder while I was typing the story? How do you do that? It’s like Gibbs on NCIS. Just kidding, glad you liked it.

Great looking wine caddy, I am sure they will love it. She could have picked Garrett’s Maloof-double Rocker, but the new hubby needs a project.

wseand, I would have had no problem with that. Mostly because I could have just emailed her and told her it was above my skill and tool level. ha ha

Very nice design. The side shapes are subtle and compliment the theme.

I also really like this item…...saved a pic on my desktop. Someday I might have a little shop time to build one as well…..nice job.
