This is the 2nd box from 7 boxes for my relatives…. Made from recycled Malaysian wood (unidentifed) became as the sides, the top is Narra, and the bottom is GEMILINA (Eucalyptus .. not sure in English) OFF YOU GO TO USA. Have a nice owner..
Amazingly, the endgrains on the side corner where the dovetail are (see photo 4), created a very unique monochrome combination. The spalted condition of the Malaysian wood are straight and having a nice contrast of black and yellow combination. Also on the bottom (See photo 6), Gemilina wood created a clean center and spalted on the sides. I took this combination to match the cover which is Narra. Instead of making frames for the cover, I use the sap portion of Narra which is white to match the Gemilina white bottom border.
Hope you like this one as you do in the first…

Lucky Brenda! These are sure to give a portion of you to each recipient. They are most fortunate to have you give them such nice memories of the family and Doris. I hope you had a nice visit under the circumstances.
Love to all, Rand

Bert, if I may ask a question – I may be moving to Malaysia in the next year…
Is it difficult to source Western woodworking products (tablesaws/planes/drills/jointers) in SE Asia? I’m wondering if I need to plan on bringing over a shop with me. Specifically was thinking of buying a Saw Stop contractor saw before heading over.
Thanks – Nathan
Have your say...
