Thanks for the Birch Brian Proctor. I waited a little long to turn this so it was quite punky but I think it turned out alright! Measures 5in H by 9in

You did a first class job. The wood was not that great as I had it for some time, the burl wood will be ok though.

Looks good.
I run into that problem with maple. Hardest part is sanding because the soft spots sand faster then the surrounding wood and leave depressions.

I agree, that is some bowl! Very nice job. I turned some maple that fell from my tree and had the same punky problem. Beautiful bowl!
