This is another in my series of wine boxes. This design has been seen many times but is still liked by many people. This one is figured maple with cherry and maple stripes. The inserts are completely through the wood and are put in place after cutting the sides to the shape you want then compressing the strips (after placing glue between strips) and then clamping the sides together. The handle is much the same but I soak the strips in water for a few hours then clamp in a form overnight. The next day the strips are dry and stay pretty much the shape you leave them in. The top is sliding to permit a wine bottle to placed inside which I usually line with felt. Enjoy

Very cool. I used a similar lamination process for the drawer fronts on my router table.
I really like the curved end.

That is very artistic and extremely attractive. I’m definitely saving this for future reference.

Wow! Scrounger, I like this one also. It’s a beautiful design and you have done a fine job on it.
