Project Information

The second bowl I've made, and the last of the Padauk I had on-hand. I noticed when I made the first one the way the grain flowed around the small patch of sap wood and really wanted to highlight that.

Starting with one fluid curved top lip, I made the beads to really show off how the grain rings seem to roll over the edge of the beads, spilling over from one to the next bead below it.

The bowl measures 1 3/4" tall x 5 1/2" across. It is finished with 3 coats of hand rubbed high gloss tung oil.

Thanks for looking :)

Great looking bowl. You captured the grain very well with your design.

Keep it up.

Thanks for the kinds words :) It's for sale in a consignment shop right now, and really has been one of the more difficult pieces to part with.
