This is an old project. A wedding present for friends. Made from Black heart Sassafras with a ebony insert to hide the mounting recess. A coin (10 baht coin from Thailand!) was sanded and engraved with recipient’s initials and placed in bottom of platter.

Its one of those pattern thing I know but the grain pattern looks like an aeroplane flying over a car in the desert.

On a more serious note. Good piece of work, my turning is appalling. Thanks for posting.
