Another use for veneer

Been thinking of some different projects to use some veneer on since I stumbled on about 20,000 square ft and bought it 4 years ago. More than I’ll use in my lifetime. First pic is beech veneer with a walnut and ash case and second pic is birdseye maple with a walnut case. The last pics is what they look like with the lights off. So what do you think. Jeff. { Sorry last two pictures are sideways, cant figure out how to rotate them.}

Good choice of veneer to use, grain stands out. What did you use as backing to the veneer?

I sandwich the veneer between 2 pieces of glass and insert them in a groove in the solid wood to hold them together. lid comes off to access led bulb
