Cherry Jewelry Box

This jewelry box was inspired by Marc Spagnuolo

I got about half way through with this but wasn’t interested in finishing it until a friend said they would buy it if I did. They wanted those bird designs on the box, I used a wood burning tool.

Woods used: Walnut, cherry, Maple

Velvet material on the inside which has a sticky backing for easy installation

I used epoxy to glue the barrel hinges in and finished this with Deft Lacquer Satin Spray which works great.

Very nice and interesting concept, regarding layout of sides and top. I like those striped sides.

I like it. This design scaled up would make a great chest.

I like your box, were those hinges difficult to install?

- Belford

Yes they were difficult, especially since I used a hand drill, and the right amount of epoxy was a bit tricky as well. Hard to not get it on the moving parts of the hinge.

Great jewelry box!! Love the design. It WOULD be a great chest like swirt has already commented.
Just f.y.i. I’ve flagged the inappropriate comments as spam. Hate to see a great build hijacked by spammers.
I really like the bird images burned into the cherry.

Have your say...
