This is a cane made out of a grape vine. I just finished the top and turned the bottom to hold the rubber foot.
I was going to fill all the hundreds of holes but I thought they might give it more character and uniqueness, so it is just sanded and clear lacquered. It is 34” high and a little springy but very strong. I put full weight on it and it flexes a bit and holds.

Cheers, Jim

Truly a unique cane, was that stock from a Michigan grape vine?

I didn’t think grape vines got to be so strong!

Another Miracle!

Great cane!

That’s really cool!

I never realize that grapevine was that sturdy.

Like Joe I didn’t think grape vines were sturdy enough for canes. I might have to plant some. Great job, now you’ll be looking for canes in every branch you see. Thanks for sharing.

I was wondering if you heard it through the grapevine that this is sturdy wood.
Sweet cane Jim.

Thanks Rodney, Dave, Ivan and Cliff!

Hi Dave, now wouldn’t that be a hoot to have some old codger in a video singing I heard it through the grapevine while limping along with this cane???

Cheers, Jim
