got an order to make a ‘dragon’ mystical box

was given a small picture of the dragon
really a series of shapes to represent one

the parts were so small i had to have a magnifying glass
on the copping saw to even see the scales on it

it wasn’t as easy to cut as imagined

but i will say i still have my fingers untouched

the box is alder with a watco oil and wax finish
as it has been to cold here to spray anything at all

it reminds me of a drawing of snoopy
hence the title

to jazz it up a bit i used a piece of copper wire (14 gauge)
to make the eye

the filler is two part epoxy with some orange craft paint

got it sent to arizona just in time
and got a return mail they liked it

hope you do too

and a special thanks to our vets today
we owe you allot for your service

Nice Work David
You’ll be needing one of those fancy Chevalets
if you cut anymore of those tiny pieces!

Gad Zooks!!! How could you see to do that thing, even with magnification. I don’t know if I could keep my hands steady enough to do that.

Think I will stick to things I can see… (-:

I do have a nice big magnifying lamp that does a fine job of helping me with the little stuff. Seems I use it for more and more things as the years go by…

You still heating that place with wood? Seems to me you had rigged some gizmos to help you with the wood cutting and such…
