Here is a clock I made a while back out of Padauk, black and white ebony, and ivory. I bought some scrap ivory years ago from a pool cue maker. They are small pieces so I normally use it as dot inlays in the some of my projects. I turned the Padauk first, then drill a hole for the leg, cut off the bottom in the center of the hole, and then turned the leg to fit the hole and cut it in half. The finish is just renaissance wax.

Good looking clock, I like the way the grain flows around the dial up top.

One of a kind : ) The grain in the Padauk is really nice and I could stare at the back of the piece for hours.
I like that the Ivory dots on the back appear to me to be planets or moons or maybe even twin suns , surrounded by cosmic clouds. Great job : )

The rain on that Padauk is just perfect. Reminds me of a red night’s sky on a fine day. Very evocative piece, certainly lifted my mood, thanks for posting.

I really like the grain of Padauk. Thinking about shape, makes me think kinda how I see the moon setting in the morning, except for it being the wrong color.
