I made 5 of these last xmas for my nieces and nephews, and this one is my daughters. I forgot to post it. There is soooo much I should post on here I just dont have enough time. The panels are underlayment ply, the uprights are pine, and the top and bottoms are cherry ply trimmed with cherry. It took almost 20 hours to gang scroll all the panels. My 1st and only scroll saw project to date. The stain is GF georgian cherry, with orange shellac to top it all off. Also was my 1st spray project. Used a 13 dollar HF spray gun on this. Sinse then I upgraded to the earlex 5000 which has improved my spraying abuility greatly. The panel patters were from an old, old wood mag I save from almost 10 years ago. Finally got around to making them. Hope you all enjoy this as much as I enjoy the wide array of projects you all produce. P.S There is a nite lite in the bottom that lights up the cutouts. I also lined the inside with linen fabric.

I just love these lamps! This is right up my alley-project wise I mean. The lamps are functional, usefull and purposely built for childrens decor! Which in my opinion are meant to be heirlooms. These should serve generation after generation. I like the nursery rhyme scrolled sides as well. Is the night light wired in series or parallel? Congratulations on a great build(s). Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments guys. Ken Im not a very good electrician so I ran a seperate cord for the nitelight. I was too afraid of a fire in a kids room. I wanted to run it paralell but the fear of harming a child kept me from doing it.
