With the advent of GardenTenders.com my wife has decided that there are some really cool things on the Internet that don’t involve shopping. When I gave her the link, she went out and joined and immediately began interacting as much as she could.
Unfortunately, she mentioned a small stool that I made for her that she uses to help her get up from the ground (where the flowers always seem to be). This mention has resulted in a constant badgering by one MsDebbieP for pictures.
Yes, the demands for visual satisfaction have been relentless. Over and over the word PICTURES show up in her messages. So, in order to give my wife a little peace of mind and since the stool is really wood related and just happens to be used for gardening, I told the Mrs. that I would post something here.
The stool is simple and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen similar things here before but MsDebbieP must be satisfied.
I appreciate your patience, now please excuse me while I remove my tongue from my cheek. ;-)

Sometimes I’m surprised at how useful simple little things like this are.

I’m thinking about edge gluing together all those scrap white oak shorts and strips that I have stashed away. Maybe with mahogany strips … sort of like a cuttin’ board design.
It will be an instant family conversation piece.
Alot of my family lives in the same part of Kansas City. All of them gardners, campers and such. Sure they all would want to try it !

”Sometimes I’m surprised at how useful simple little things like this are.” – Russel
That’s the truth, Russel. It’s the practical projects that we use often, that give daily satisfaction. I just made a little drawer to go into a kitchen cabinet for my wife, and she loves it, because it helps her in her “shop” (the kitchen). And, usually, these projects are designed solely to be used.
Nice work.

Great little bench.

The benches are about 17 inches high by 20 inches long by 12 inches deep. A single 6 foot 1×12 for about $7 from Home Depot does the trick.

We have a little bench identical to this up at our cabin. Barb’s Dad made it many years ago.
It may be about 60 years old, or older. The only thing different about ours is, it has a hand hole slot on top
for carrying it, plus it’s all beat up from the many years of use.
