In the quest to find something to give my Brother in Law for Christmas last year, it dawned on me how much he likes Blanton’s Bourbon. If you haven’t had it, it is quite good. As an added bonus with Blanton’s, they have 8 different stoppers depicting a race horse and jockey.

The top beam is a piece of rescued barn wood from a farm in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri and the legs are Kentucky Coffee Tree that I laminated to make blocks then cut the general profile on the band saw. The legs are finished with Tung Oil.

Overall finished product is a really striking piece and the end grain on the Kentucky Coffee wood is really dynamic.

That’s pretty neat Mike.

That’s really nice work, and a very creative way to display the stoppers. The sequence depicts a full gallop, and it looks like you got them in the right order (the letters on each should spell Blantons if it’s right).

Sadly, the antics of their spokeswoman recently means I won’t be buying any Beam products for a while (Beam, Booker’s, Baker’s, Blanton’s and Knob Creek). Too bad since Knob Creek is my go-to brand and Booker’s ranks at the top of my favorites for a special treat. Hopefully, they’ll handle it the right way and sever ties with her.

I drink Blantons and am somewhat a liquor nerd, but did not know they made different stoppers. I have 3 at home, I will have to see if i have duplicates. Either way, looks like I have at least 5 to go.

Very nice work by the way.
