Universal knife block with Pinned Rabbet Joints

I made this knife block for my desk at work. I wanted to have it look professional in my office, so I chose to make it from Walnut and Maple as well as oak for the bottom and Pins for the joinery. I also wanted the ability to put any size knife anywhere in the block so I used bamboo skewers to hold the knives in position rather than cutting a slot for each individual knife. This gives me room to grow my collection without the worry of what kind of blades will fit in each space.

That is pretty slick. Knife fits anywhere in there!!
