This is the second chaise lounge I’ve built. The first was a prototype model for my wife, it’s nice, but this one I made few different changes. Stiffenend up the back braces, doubled up on the side frames. I like this one alot better. The third picture is the color the chairs is suppose to be painted. If you walk into the two major big box stores in the south, south-east (lowes or HD) and order a quart of exterior, semi-gloss, canary yellow paint, this is what you get. To my eye it’s a huge difference. The yellow on the left is Behr from HD, the right is the Valspar from Lowes. Did someone at the store make a mistake or is it that much of a difference in named colored paints, i.e. “canary yellow”. The yellow on the right is the correct color I was looking for.
thanks for looking
dan

Hi Dan,
That’s a great lawn chair! Nice work.
Every paint company’s color names are proprietary. You really have to look at their paint chips to get an idea of true color. Common names like Heritage Blue, Cape Cod Grey, & Egg Shell White are different from supplier to supplier.

Good job!! As vicrider said you have to look at the paint chips to get an idea of what the color will look like, you can not tell by the name.

Very nice, after pricing such chairs I am thinking of building some for my pool, man o man simple pool chairs are very high dollar!
Have your say...
