I found this sitting on a shelf in my shop. The date on it is 1995.

Its been sitting there for a long time. LOL

It didn’t have a finish on it. So I gave it a couple of coats of Mineral Oil.

This is some more of the wood from a tree that was hit by lightning.

I sat for awhile with the bark on it, & started getting worm holes in it .

I drilled, & plugged the worm holes.

It’s 7 1/4” X 9” high.

I set it on the kitchen table, & Barb uses it as a hat rack. LOL

Janice is right, you probably forgot more than I’ll ever know. Nice piece though.

We have a floppy lion that occasionally turns up in strange places….......he would think he had died and gone to heaven, if he could live in the vase….............fun.

Actually is 70 deg here today, as Kermit and I sit and sift through the email. Managed to leave my credit card at a local store here on Saturday, didn’t realize until today…....so I retrieved it. Saw the usual flock of patients and had a bunch of laughs with clients who have become friends over the decades. Still fretting about Alistair’s hand. Found out a bunch of computer stuff I ordered is coming on the least convenient day…..Sherie said I couldn’t cancel all my patients…......computers are my longest lived and at times quite frivolous hobby….....(-:

Consulted on a table runner design that Sherie is embroidering with her latest sewing toy…......those are toys…....woodworking tools are machines….............(-:

Just another ordinary day in my life, no real complaints…........sounds like yours is going fine too…........

Debbie is right there is a big smile, that chalice was sat waiting all those years for a hat like that to come along. The lightening strike was no accident it was the beginning of a marriage made in heaven. Thanks for posting Hey! now I’m smiling too.
God bless you both

Barb wishes to thank all of you who liked her hat.

I just entered a new picture of one of her hats she’s been wearing lately.

Notice the knot that looks like an “eye” peaking at you.
