This is rather simple design. We needed a coffee table and I needed to practice with some new joinery. My intention was to laminate 3 boards together for each of the legs and make the table a little longer but I discovered after I bought the wood that I did not have enough…so I had to improvise a little and I cut the legs at 45 degree angles glued them together and then put 3 splines in each leg for strength. I the M&T joints kicked my butt because my tooling is not adequate for this type of joiner but I made it work.

I’‘m hoping to build some furniture like this too. Your work is great! Edge-gluing boards seems impossible to me, but yours look very good!

Thanks for the complements.
groland: pictures can be a little deceiving but all and all I am pretty happy with it. Edge gluing boards was a PITA with my current set of tools. I just tried to get as close as possible to the same thickness before I glued it up and then what to town with a belt sander that had 50 grit paper on it.

Nice. Sounds like you learned the valuable lesson that a craftsman is not/ should not be limited by their tools. A little imagination can overcome most any obstacle. Good work.
