Today I installed the most important component of the entertainment center. I also got the last piece of trim in place. I am currently drilling out the shelf support holes using Rockler’s Jig-it. On the way home from work I picked up a final sheet of 3/4” cabinet grade for the shelves. I will try to cut them tonight and get the front trim glued up.

All right a new toy box storage. and you don’t have to worry about the door slamming on little fingers.

Rob – WOW! It is really taking shape. The addition of the baby unit really works well.
The trim detail in the frame and panel really looks better in my opinion. Really classy. You have a “Parade of Homes” entertainment center here. What are the overall dimensions?

The Entertainment Center is really nice and well built. The baby kind of steals the show in my opinion.

It’s a little over 12’ long and 8’ tall. The center section is 16” deep and the outer sections are 14”.

Rob, it really looks fine. Is there a bandage on the baby’s head or is it a funny?

HA! Great baby shot! You know though that for someone who stated that you’re “learning woodworking” you sure are doing a great job! Keep us posted!

The title said, “Most Important Piece …”, then I saw the little guy in the picture and said, “Why didn’t I think of that?” If I had built my children into an entertainment center when they were younger, I could have gotten started on this whole woodworking thing earlier. The work is impressive. Something like that just adds to any home.

Putting him in the box will be a good way of keeping him from hitting his head on anything else. My son was sporting a nice bandaid from running full speed into my jointer infeed table. It was the second time he’d blooded my shop and the third generation of my family to do so. Thankfully all just knuckleheaded things like the jointer headbutt. The centre is coming out nice!
