Box full of Chisels?

Recently I bought some cheap chisels, and even though I didn’t spend a lot of money on them, I still wanted a way to keep them put away cleanly.

I had some maple pallet wood that I milled done into some boards (1/2”x3”) glued them into panels for the Lid and Bottom. The sides were just one piece. I dovetail cut the corner joints. Boy was that the hardest time I had. (course it was my first set of dovetails I had ever cut) Learned a lot, and still have a lot to learn.

After the box was made, I put on some simple hinges and latches. The foam actually was recycled from our couch that was used to protect it. I cut the foam (about 1/8” thick) into squares about the size of the box. I glued about 20/30 or so of them on top of each other. Then sized the “block” into the box. Then laid out and cut the profile of the chisels to fit. I still have a layer or two of lacquer to spray.

These are great chisel organizers.
