The OCD railing and landscaping is done. It’s fall and the plants are cut down, but next summer it should look good! The river rock covers the drainage trench against the rock wall, as well as hides the downspout runoff at the corner. Boxwood hides the cavity under the top level and is visible from the family room window well below , staying green all winter. I love it when a plan comes together !

This is how I moved the rock…..right click and select ‘Open in new tab’

Beautiful deck and railing. You’ll get a lot of enjoyment out of it in future summers.

Thanks guys….it’s been a long haul. It never ends though, as I just cut down the badly shaped Blue Spruce at the far corner, and am exposing more rock under the grass hill that was extremely difficult to cut. Since we have so many perennials that need splitting up, a new garden will be added at that corner, giving a better view of the rest of the yard and forest….and less grass to cut :)

If you didn’t see the first post, here it is

Thanks….LOL….OCD means obsessive compulsive disorder. I straighten pictures on walls and everything has to be straight and perfect….even my deck !

The tree is a PeeGee Hydrangea. I just cut off the blooms today and put them in vases full of water. They will dry as you see them in the picture, so we can enjoy them all winter when there is 6 feet of snow on the deck :(
