These are a pair of night stands I made for our master bedroom. They are designed to match the bed I made and finished a few years back. And now we finally have a place (other than the floor) to keep our junk.

They are made using mahogany and walnut that I purchased at the local hardwood store. The only exception is the drawer sides where I used maple. The finish is with Waterlox Original..

All the details of the design were worked out in Sketchup. It was a lot of fun to design the drawer pulls too.

The biggest challenge of the project was hanging the drawers, since this was a first for me. It took me a little time, but I got the fit I wanted, and most importantly they both open AND close :)

Thanks for looking.

Judging from the picture with the headboard in it they match up to the headboard very well. The bow front and beveled edge is a nice subtle touch. Your pulls also have me thinking about something like that for a desk that I am working on but can’t seem to find just the right metal pull.

Lastly, I noticed that you used SketchUp for your plans. I’ve been very impressed with it since I started using it early this year. It really helps show what the finished project will look like and changes can be made quickly without wasting wood in the process.

Well done!!!

The wood combination is very nice and the walnut sap wood “trim” really makes for a stylish look. From a sketch up concept to reality, well executed!
