I built this wanes coting over a chimney stack for the old covering was split and rotted for there was no moisture barrier….......I used a lot of biscuits and used some pocket screws

Wow, This is very nice. I have a customer that is looking for ideas for there mantle. They have a simular situation with a drywalled chimeny and dont know what to do with it. I may show them this if you dont mind me stealing your idea!! Well Done!!
