First Pen Case/Storage Box

This is my first project in quite some time. It is Tiger Maple with a dyed Lacewood insert in the lid. I have 12 slots to hold pens, long with a sliding liftout tray for storing whatever. The slideout tray is Cocobolo with a walnut bottom. I used purpleheart for the splines, and then got the strange notion to round off the mitered corners. Not sure that I like the look – but can’t undo it. I’m hoping to get back into the shop more frequently and post additional projects.

Very nice ! your choice of woods looks great and the dyed lacewood really stands out with that tiger maple.

Beautiful box, Bill! The woods are gorgeous, and compliment each other nicely.

It’s good to see you still know how to use those tools. :-)
