5” X 3” Plum natural edge bowl finished with Salad Bowl Finish, as requested by my sister. Because of the purple and hardness this may be my favourite wood. I did take one picture in direct sunlight, I was hoping it would show the colours better. I also needed a break from the Red Cedar, can only take so much of that at one time.

Fine job on the bowl John. I know it’s hard to show off the beautiful color to it. I had a piece awhile back but it developed so many cracks I had to toss it.

Good job of keeping the natural edge.
Fruit woods are my favorite turning material.

Very well done. As some by now know; I am a big fan of natural edging on many things.

Beautiful. I’ve never worked with Plum, I had no idea the bark was so thick. Thanks for posting.

Thanks fellows. I should clarify that I used a Food Safe Oil, not a wax, since I didn’t want to mess with the bark.
