The box is done for this truck. Finished in Ambrosia Maple [wormy maple] it is a bit different than the typical Oak beds we normally see, finish is 2 coats of Epiphanies marine varnish, might add a 3rd coat. The addition of the wood tool box was a bit more time consuming than planned. Again in Ambrosia Maple over cabinet plywood, it has the Chevy bow-tie carved into it’s top, backing for the bow tie is White Oak veneer and outlined in Brazilian Rosewood. The top was then poured with 2 part epoxy. To raise and lower the tool box top I am using a 12 volt linear actuator that operates from inside the truck or with a remote on my key ring. The interior of the truck is also accented with Ambrosia Maple, but that’s another story later.

Definitely show piece. Could not be nicer. I had a 52 mercury, started fixing it up but sold it, as my kids where in school..

Like the idea. I may steal the idea but put a fuel tank inside. I assume you just got extra stainless strips.

A lot of us will want pictures of the truck. I am not a huge bowtie fan; but, the 65-6 are my favorites among them. I have had 4. So I had given them a fair trial.

Beautiful, but trying to figure out the arrangement. Is the toolbox in the rear of the bed against the tailgate, or was the picture taken before the bed was mounted on the truck?

Like others, would love pics of the truck, and that abrosia accented interior.
