Second of two small memory boxes I made for a friend. Like the previous box, it took way too long to complete this as I usually don’t do any woodworking between May and November.

What a beautiful box. You did a fine job on this piece and it displays a lot of nice details and craftsmanship.

Like the wood choices and the finish. Watching cherry darken with age should make it even more interesting. We have cherry cabinets and some furniture in our vacation home in Washington. It has steadily darkened even without much sun light on it. We have a lot of Jatoba in our Alaskan home, and it darkens with age as well.

I spent my summer and fall refinishing furniture (I have learned to hate that), and building a cheap pine table for our handicapped daughter’s home. Gotta post the table. Now I will be taking a break for a bit, the opposite of your schedule…
