This is a boat bed that was completed in June 2010. The wood parts are natural pine with a clear coat. If you notice you’ll see a blue one and white one. I somehow made the mistake of finishing it in the wrong colors. I ended up refinishing it.

One difference on this one then some of my others are the port holes. I get from from Nautical Tropical in Georgia.

The wood used on the toy box lid, rail top, and the top of the headboard is pine. My standard color on this is usually Red Mahogany form Minwax. This customer choose our natural pine.

I also built a nightstand and a chest to match.

Here is the raw video of the build:

Sucks that you had to refinish but this is a great bed. Would have loved one when I was a kid. I still act like a kid but am dragging around an adult body. LOL

Rex, it’s not too late. You can still have you a boat bed. Just have to talk your wife into it.

Neat idea for a bed. What’s missing are the red light on the port side and the green light for starboard (especially if it is for a kids bed to add authenticity). Really sharp looking project!

Thanks, Jeff. I’ll have to do some research on that.
