A diamond willow hiker with a ball compuss , leather wraist strap , and a 12 gauge shot gun hull used to protect the bottom . SOLD

Materials
Wood – Bebbs Willow
Leather strap
Bruton Ball Compuss
12 Gauge Shot Gun Hull
Finish – Satin Poly

Great idea to use the 12 ga shot shell for the bottom, it’s practical and unusual. I will be borrowing your idea, thank you!

Nice stick! I love diamond willow its really pretty. I also like the shotgun shell I will be using this idea thanks for posting.

I plan to make a couple of hiking poles for my wife and I and I keep thinking about this one. We do not have any diamond willow here in NZ but it is winter now so I am going to take a few walks in the bush and cut a few poles and let them dry and see what I can make of them.

No I wish it was a rattlesnake rattle, but it is only a Jack Pine cone. My kids use to call these Jack Pine cones ” Dragon’s claws ” because, well, they looked like a claw…
