My last post on the Koa boxes brought these to mind. Here is a set of bookends I did last year to repay a friend for repairing my boat. the Koa is 1 7/8” thick with 1/4” zebrawood veneer on the sides. They are weighted internally on the bottom half with scrap lead from my dentist’s x-ray lab. They weigh about 3 lbs each. The last pic shows them in work.

I love Zebrawood and anything made with it. These turned out nicely. Have not thought of getting lead from the dentist, may be a good idea further down the road.

I love Koa. I still have a couple little pieces to do something with. Beautiful work!

Max…...........your work is always so refined and with a definite delicate touch combined with “substance”. At least that is how I view your work.

Always nice to see your projects
