Hello guys

My name is Niko and I’m a new guy at LJ. I work with wood only for my hobby in my free time. Recently, I made wooden bowls from birch that were all cracked. I finished the bowls with flame torch and l lacquer.
What do you think?

Hi Niko,

did you want them to crack or did they accidentally crack when drying? And did you carve them with hand- or powertools?

However, I like your bowls. They seem to be hundred years old an I like that look very much.

Welcome to lumberjocks,
Very nice bowls. The rustic style is very popular. Thank you for sharing the pictures.

Thanks all for the comments.
The wooden log was cut on 30cm pieces and was laying on the ground about 6 months. Some pieces were cracked from the begining, some cracked while they drying (my mistake). Small cracks were arise with the heat of flame torch.
I carve with powertools and chisels.
