I really had no idea I could do anything like this. My wife drew me a picture of what she wanted and I made it. I had to make it custom because of the size. Its 83” tall by 12” deep on the sides and 16” in the center, and 127” wide. This is the project I discovered the Kreg Jig. Now I use it every chance I get. Its so easy. Now the hardest part for me is cutting the wood, and finishing it. Behind the TV I put a little access door so I can get to the darn cords. I wish I had done a few things different now but it was a learning process. And on both sides of the TV are DVD slide-outs. I had to make something to take up the difference from 12-16”. I anchored it to the wall and they slide like a dream. And yes those are child locks on the doors. Our kids discovered they could fit easily.

WAY TO GO JEREMY. I THINK YOU HIT THIS ONE OUT OF THE PARK. WORKING WITH THE FULL SET OF PLANS YOUR WIFE GAVE YOU HELPS. I FEEL YOUR PAIN WITH THAT. “CAN YOU MAKE IT LOOK LIKE THIS?”

I HAVE A RULE WITH THE WIFE, EVERY NEW PROJECT I GET A NEW TOOL. TRY IT OUT.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. WHAT DID YOU USE AS A FINISH?

Thanks. I wanted it to look “Built-in” just incase we move it can be a selling point. But I took some molding to Lowes and had them color match with some high gloss latex. That way its easy to clean with 2 kids ages 3 and 4. This project is how I got my Table Saw, circular saw, and Kreg Jig. So I think that works. And I just got my first Band Saw. Of course after finishing our daughters bed. But I guess that counts. :-)

Maybe the first Jeremy but I am sure it won’t be the last. Very nice work.

A great design and execution of a great project. Your wife should be very happy, which means you have more brownie points, which equates to more tools!
