I am in love with diamond willow!
Nice stick.
It’s a pity diamond willow doesn’t grow in this part of the panet.
May I offer one suggestion?
A rubber button or cup at the end of the cane will make it less slippery than a simple brass end.
Of course if it’s just one that you carry, rather than it carrying you, it won’t matter that much.
I make that observation as on ewho neede the support of a cane for about ten years.
I LOVE diamond willow!

Nice stick!
The small leather hanging strap is common among those of us that follow Appalachian traditions.
Stick with it and you can lean on it. :~)

I’m in love with diamond willow too , oh ‘Dancer of the wood’ , every piece is different – unique . I do supply a high quality rubber cane tip with all my canes that locks over the brass one , the brass tip just prevents the end from mushrooming after a lot of use.
