Project Information

Flowers are hand carved from Basswood.
Redwood Burl Base
Approx 15" x 10" x 5"

I'm hoping to make a pivot in my woodworking and focus more on finer, hand carved art. Hoping to test the waters at some fine art fairs and art galleries and see how I do. Also hoping I can somehow get my foot in the door in the wedding industry and offer these custom made flower displays as gifts… I carve a replica of the brides wedding flowers with custom engraving or gift to the bride and groom from parents… things like this. Hoping I find some demand.

Will post more of my flower displays.
Thanks for looking / sharing

Wow, superb work, impressive carving skills. I assume this is layered and not a single piece or two of wood?

Scott,

We wish you well with your endeavor to sell these for weddings, etc. They would be an exceptionally unique and beautiful gift. In a city like Chicago they should do really well. (Here in rural America you couldn't recover the cost of your wood.) :-(

Your videos are very nice, too.

Realy amaizing how you managed to make all those thin parts. Good idea for wedding business, I see no problem for that.
