This is a Christmas present for my father who has just recently pimped out his back yard with a new patio and outdoor kitchen. Since he’s spending a lot of time out there I thought I’d give him something that would attract birds. I had some leftover cut-offs of Ipe that I used for this. It is intentionally rustic since it is supposed to look like an outhouse. I have to knock out a lot of woodworking projects this month for Christmas gifts, so this one had to be done quickly and cheaply.

Great looking birdhouse—the outhouse look is very clever! I’m sure your dad will love it!

(By the way, I thought future viewers might enjoy seeing it upright!)

Looks good. Needs a Do Not Disturb sign to make it complete.

Good looking house…Looks like my grand parents old outhouse I used when I was a kid on their farm…

And the birds will thank you for it by nesting in it….I have a few on my place, too…..

This is a nice looking birdhouse and you did a fine job on it.
