Project Information

This was made as a gift for my Sister's Family. She has reminded me quite a bit that everyone else in the family had a board except for her - not anymore Ang! ;-)

Made out of Walnut, Cherry and American Chestnut.

Measurements are 12.5" x 16" and 1 1/4" thick - 108 Pieces in all.

Yes, this is totally random - you will not find any "secret layout method" on this one Larry, no matter how hard you try! ;-)

Basically it is what I call a "brute force" type of board - cut all the pieces, smooth them up and start gluing one-by-one!

The last image is a screen shot of an Excel Spreadsheet - this is how I plan these kind of boards to get a rough guess of how much stock I will need. I only strayed a small bit from the plans at the very end - not too bad!

Enjoy!

You are right Bob… I can't find any rhyme or reason to the positioning of the pieces.. that said… nice board… I may even try one myself…Nah… I will stick to what I know and leave the random boards to the experts.
