My tiny shop requires everything on wheels, including my saw with its sliding table. So, of course, the outfeed table too need to be folding. Found a lot of plans online, but then made my own. The brace is free – it is not connected to anything, and just slips in and out. When out, I hang it up. Takes about 3-4 secs to raise the table and put in the brace. So far, so good.
The only hard part was getting the brace to the exact length. Some trig helped, but I still needed to try and try again till it was perfect.
The metal flanges (forgot what I saved them from) move up and down easily, with almost zero lateral movement.
24mm birch plywood.

Nice job, just glad I can keep mine in place all the time. I do however understand everyone doesn’t have the luxury of a big shop. You have made a useful item, work for your storage situation, and very well by the looks of it, Congratulations.

Avi, I’m super paranoid with the table saw so it scares me a little to see the support not fixed to anything. Does it index anywhere? I’m thinking that just the vibration from the saw will be enough to move it around and it would frighten me to death to have the outfeed table collapse when I’m running a bit heavy piece of wood through the saw. Maybe some guides either side of the metal flanges or a spreader bar at the top would give me some sense of security.

Siv, that’s a good point. I will think about a groove in the base, or blocks on the side or some way to lock it in.

I made my assembly table just right to roll up at the end of the Table Saw. I love these fold down extensions though.
