Finally got the finishing touches on my Juniper log. Picture 2 shows the log, left side. The log was over six inches in diameter on the wide side and fell off to about a 4 inch diameter on the thin side. The log was about 40 inches in length, so I was able to cut out 6 blanks, 5 boots and one shoe with an elevated sole which became my ‘Rose’!
Juniper has many qualities that a boot carver can like, namely texture of wood and branch off shoots, varied grain and ‘wild’ colour! These are evident in the pieces on display.
The larger diameter of the log produced the two larger boots, with boots decreasing in size as the diameter decreased. Final boot blank was a bit small so it was made into a high heel shoe- a Rose is a Rose is a Rose!

Two logs left in the monster project, my mystery wood which I think is Ash and the gnarled maple. Should be done before the goblins fly!

No LEDs needed. They are glowing on its own. Beautiful!
