Bed for my daughter

I recently made new bed for my daughter. It’s made of spruce, painted with white tinted paint, semi transparent so that the growth rings are visible through. Its dimensions are 200×90cm.

I like that headboard. Are those individual pieces secured in a slot? or glued/nailed in? Either way looks good.

They are secured with two dowels and a screw on each end. The screws are hidden under plugs. All visible screws are hidden with plugs.
