Finally, after more than a year of diligent work, research and patience, it is completed. First, a brief intro to the man who invented the wooden clock movement that made his “scroll and pillar clock” work. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eli_Terry
And so, here are pics of my version of his clock. The picture on the bottom glass pane is a representation of the Suspension Bridge that spans the Ohio River near where I grew up on Wheeling Island and connects to downtown Wheeling. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheeling_Suspension_Bridge The clock case is tiger maple and the accent wood is padauk. It is finished with Watco Danish Oil and catalyzed varnish, two coats sanding between coats. The case was assembled after finishing using hide glue. Enjoy!

Nice work, Bruce. Great craftsmanship. I’ve been across that bridge many times!

Wow! Bruce you did a really nice job on this clock. It’s very attractive and beautifully done.

What a magnificent clock! I love the details you added to give it its character. It’s going to look amazing on your mantel!

(By the way, I thought I’d turn it upright for future viewers.)
