Once again, one of the local Churches asked for a donation, so I’ve been wanting to build one of these for a while. Its just pine, with a Masonite top that’s been waxed so the dominoes slide easy. Its all reclaimed pine I milled down and the Masonite was left over from a previous job. Hope it brought in some good bids ;-)

Hey James great to see your project, it looks super. Just wondering what special attribute do domino tables have?

Jim, here in Czech country dominoes are still played regularly in beer halls and other spots. Also in my time with the paid Fire Department, Dominoes was a heated game in the off hours, our table had a leather top to it and it was almost worn through. I can still remember some of the guys, actually drinking peanuts in their Coke and the dominoes had almost lost their dots from so much playing.

A good domino table should have a slick surface, there are a lot of great designs out there with rails to set up your dominoes, some use chalk board so you can keep score right on the table, others have put cup holders on em.

I just kept this one old school and simple. I’ve built a few with formica tops also just incase someone spills their adult beverage :-D

Thanks for the info James, dominoes seems like a great way to keep busy mentally even when the weather is not good outside.

It makes a very nice game table. Nice work!
